My childhood home on Caldwell Avenue in The Bronx (that's in New York City for those of you who don't know!) Son Mike and I went back there a few years ago and the place looked like it had been blown away by WW III, ready to be torn down and to start all over.  It was "the pits"....now it's becoming the "in" place to live.

Wedding day October 5, 1957

My Hawaiian Family - 1963      We lived in Hawaii for six years -- daughter Terri was born there.  My other two children, Linda and Mike, were born in San Diego.  Like most Navy families we lived all over the place: In Long Beach and San Diego, CA, near Quontico, VA, and in Hawaii's Eva Beach and Pearl Harbor areas.  The kids learned to adapt!

A Navy Man...I graduated OCS in 1956 and retired in 1976! No, I didn't make it as an aviator -- After some time in the "Amphibs" and destroyers I got into salvage and deep sea diving, if you can imagine anything stranger! I was XO of the USS Reclaimer, and USS Dubuque, and "Skipper" of USS Current and lastly of ACU-1. I also served on USS MERRICK (AKA-97), the USS HOPEWELL DD-681), and for a brief while as an exchange officer on the Royal New Zealand Navy frigate OTAGO.

Ordained by Bishop Maher July 1986

The family gave me a week-end stay in a house they rented in Idyllwild, CA and then invited all of themselves to share the week-end with me.  It was a hectic but wonderfully loving week-end!  I resolved then and there never to live with my WHOLE family!
