What's going on?

On our recent trip to Spain we had a great lunch at Madrid's Casa Botin which is officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as being the oldest restaurant in the world. It was founded in 1725...and updated many times since. Here we are waiting for our seating: daughter Terri, her husband Ron, their daughter Sharlaine and me.

Here is the newest member of the Fuld family, young Landen Floyd Burkhead, the child of Granddaughter Adrianne and Floyd. Yes, he's walking now and getting into everything, just like boys are supposed to! Still a bit shy, but I'm sure he'll have his own motorbike soon!

Who says that retirement is all that dull? Like a lot of those who have preceeded me into "retirement" I find that I am as busy as ever..... At The Southern Cross: As the Managing Editor of The Southern Cross, the newspaper for San Diego diocese, I have no end of concerns and interests. Fortunately I have a great crew and a great relationship with our bishop. The May '10 issue was my "second anniversary" issue. [No, there was no party.] If you have items that would help tell our Catholic story please contact me at cfuld@diocese-sdiego.org or (858) 490-8279 or FAX (858)490-8355 With the Knights of Columbus: After finishing my tour as California State Chaplain, I agreed to localize my efforts by working with the Knights of the 4th Degree in Southern California, working with Larry Compitiello. San Diego Sheriff's Department: Yes, I will continue as their Catholic Chaplain-at-Large.. Workshops and retreats: I am currently working on a Men's retreat to be held at Whispering Winds Campground during the weekend of 12-13-14 November 2010. Minding a parish or two. Yes, I'll be minding St. Didacus in July, Corpus Christi in October and Our Lady of Perpetual Help late next year. Mass Schedules: I am helping at various churches as needed. Yes, I'm keeping very busy. Trips and Tours: The big adventure was a trip to Spain with daughter Terri, her husband and daughter in March and April of last year. We stayed in Marbela and from there we traveled all around, including a first-time visit to Gibralta. The next trip will be a week-long visit to NYC in Sept. I'm also planning to visit the Utah Shakespeare Festival with Fr. Mike in August. Tours? None planned -- though there has been talk of a possible tour to France or Ireland next year.
